about

« AMADUAWOG » aims at denouncing that Western greed is causing its loss and that this modern Atlantis is sinking more and more under the flood of inequalities which gradually overwhelm it.
Musically speaking the album is forceful and rhythmic, varied, detailed and wide-ranging work at times twisting into unexpected turns in which atmosphere and dramaturgy lead the ear into a wonderland where nothing is as it would seem.

« Schplink-Plonky Bong Bom » acts like a « mise en bouche » intro pairing 2 mythical Electronic instruments Buchla with Synthi in a very unique way, caressing, impacting for some percs, while turning frequency/modulation/timbre/pitch of his voice upside down.

« A Modern Atlantis » mixing Modular systems with processed or kazooed-voices, shaping up a new sound which Philippe has been exploring live and perfecting from the reactions of his audiences to reach a new Contemporary orchestrated Indie move, where ghosts of Shoegaze dance with electro-acoustically-psyched-out atmospheres… Choir-like or mouth-noises being treated thru amps and reverbs bring a melodic human touch that is unique and guarantees that once heard Petit cannot be mistaken with any other.

« Une mise en lumière discrète révèle l'irréel qui frissonne en chacune... » translates : A discreet highlight reveals the unreal that shivers in each lady…

« A Call » from vaporous dusk creatures, siren-like, who like mermaids may enchant sound travellers passing by. « Unidentified Flying Sounds » meeting some prepared Grand Piano, sliding various stripes, clothespins or other objects on / between the strings to alter timbre/melody. Dusk whispers reminiscent of some strange creatures, siren-like, who like mermaids would enchant sound travellers passing by.

« Passing Through Tribulations Like Cancayle Oysters ? » refers to crossing a zone where one wouldn’t know how long it is safe to stay and is an hommage to my friend Morton Subotnick…

« Synthillating in the dark» is an interludes which may be glowing in the dark whenever one knows how to shake’s accordingly…

« Auld lang sine-wave » Sine-wave sound is the most mininmal/purest electronic whisper so as to relax and that we be departing immersed in a dream where nothing would be where it should be.

“A modern Atlantis down under a wave of greed” is lively, energetic, and oneiric while managing to stay unpredictable.
Come travel the paths of the unexpected…

Fortunate enough to work with what people call a dream-team of collaborators: joining Lydia Lunch, Murcof, The European Contemporary Orchestra (E.C.O.), Mark Cunningham (MARS), Cindytalk, Audrey Chen, Mia Zabelka, Iancu Dumitrescu's Hyperion Ensemble, Stephen O'Malley or Faust onstage and-or in studio.
Besides he did some recordings with: Eugene Robinson (Oxbow), Edward Ka-Spel (Legendary Pink Dots), Simon Fisher Turner, Kumo, Scott McCloud (Girls Against Boys), Cosey Fanni Tutti (Throbbing Gristle), My Brightest Diamond, Sybarite, Foetus, Pantaleimon, Graham Lewis (Wire), Barry Adamson, Andy Diagram, Scanner, Machinefabriek, Mira Calix, Kammerflimmer Kollektief, Justin K. Broadrick, James Johnston (Gallon Drunk/Bad Seeds/Faust), ASVA, Jarboe, Jad Fair, Martin Dupont and many more…

Relying on electricity/amplification, Vintage synths to produce, manipulate, sculpt his "Electronic abstractions" and Plastic sound-objects, Philippe is constantly trying his best to explore various genres and make sure that each album differs from the previous one, trying to avoid routine and surprise listeners.
